Based in Milan and on Lake Como, I practise international commercial and private law. My work covers in particular corporate and commercial law, real estate law and inheritance law — always with a cross-border dimension and in the light of the European legal framework. This goes beyond the mere application of national rules; it involves embedding legal questions in the complex interplay of domestic law, EU law and private international law.

As a Rechtsanwalt admitted to the Rechtsanwaltskammer Köln and simultaneously as an avvocato stabilito with the Ordine degli Avvocati di Milano, I hold dual admission and expertise that allows me to advise and represent clients seamlessly in both legal systems. Advice is provided in German, Italian and English, overcoming both legal and language barriers to ensure coherent support throughout.

A particular focus of my practice is accompanying complex transactions and legal matters at the interface of German and Italian law. This requires not only legal precision and deep systemic knowledge, but equally an understanding of cultural backgrounds, economic frameworks and European integration processes. My approach therefore combines legal expertise with intercultural mediation and a clear strategic focus — developing solutions that are both legally sound and practically workable.

Curriculum Vitae

I was born on 20 October 1987 in Bonn, where I also grew up. After graduating from the Beethoven-Gymnasium in Bonn and completing my civilian service, I began studying law at the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan and subsequently at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg.

Already during my studies abroad, my focus shifted early to private international law and procedure, particularly the interfaces between German and Italian law.

I completed my studies in Heidelberg in June 2014, passing the First State Law Examination of Baden-Württemberg.

At the start of my legal traineeship at the Oberlandesgericht Cologne, I worked at the Landgericht Bonn, focusing on construction law and general civil law. At the same time, until 2017, I worked as a research assistant at the Cologne law firm Jürgens & Jürgens, with a particular focus on construction and contract mandates.

During my placement at the Staatsanwaltschaft Bonn I dealt with capital markets and narcotics offences, deepening my understanding of criminal procedure and its practical challenges.

My work at the Federal Office of Justice involved international child custody disputes — an area that sharpened my interest in cross-border family law questions.

A formative part of my training was the elective placement at Dolce Lauda Rechtsanwälte Avocati in Frankfurt am Main — one of the leading German-Italian law firms — where I worked primarily on civil and commercial law matters and gained substantial experience in transnational legal advice.

In May 2019 I successfully completed the Second State Law Examination of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Since August 2019 I have been admitted as a Rechtsanwalt with the Rechtsanwaltskammer Köln; in October of the same year I was also registered as an avvocato stabilito with the Ordine degli Avvocati di Milano. I have been working in close cooperation with the Milan law firm Bordiga Xerri since June 2018.

My practice encompasses advice and representation in both legal systems — German and Italian — with a focus on general civil law, inheritance and corporate law, and international commercial law. I also lead the German/International Desk of the firm, with particular responsibility for cross-border mandates and German-speaking clients.

Bordiga Xerri is a member of the Italian-German Chamber of Commerce (AHK Italien). I am myself a member of Villa Vigoni e.V., the Cologne Bar Association, DAV Italien, the German-Italian Lawyers' Association, and the Young Forum of the German Bar Association (DAV). These networks enable continuous professional exchange and foster the deepening of German-Italian dialogue in law, academia and politics.

I am the author and co-author of legal publications in Germany and Italy, and regularly present at professional conferences. I also prepare expert opinions and selected legal translations, particularly in the context of German-Italian legal relations.

I am also regularly active as a visiting researcher at the Institute for Foreign and International Private and Commercial Law at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, with which I have maintained close ties since my studies.

Building bridges between legal systems, cultures and markets

The close ties between Germany and Italy are reflected in a wide range of personal, cultural, academic and economic constellations. The legal advice I place at the centre of my work is just one of the many expressions of this important European relationship.

As European integration deepens, numerous advisory fields arise from German-Italian entanglements and from cross-border business activity. Such advice requires not only in-depth knowledge of both legal systems and of European and transnational law, but equally a sensitivity to the respective social and cultural contexts.

My personal background has always enabled me to build — and strengthen — bridges between the two countries and within Europe. My roots in the Rhineland and Lombardy, an extensive network in Germany, Italy and other European states, and many years of legal expertise form the foundation of my professional work.
